Had a bit of time, thought I'd finish up with my story. Here's the second

part.

It had taken Charlie longer than he thought it would to reach the Raccoon

Police Department. When he reached the front door, he couldn't help but feel

a chill run up his spine. Opening the door, what he saw surprised him. It

looked like they were in the middle of fixing up the entire building.

Everyone was yelling so loud, he could barely hear himself think. The place

was still a sight though, with a grand fountain right in the middle of the

lobby.

Letting the door close behind him, he walked up one side of the fountain to

the receptionists desk. The phone didn't seem to stop ringing. Every time

the middle aged woman set the phone down, there was always another to

attract her attention. She caught his eye and nodded. Looking around, she

motioned for someone to take the phone for a moment.

"Hello, what can I do for you?" She asked in a pleasant tone.

"I'm Charlie Hamilton, I had an appointment for a week from

yesterday..."Charlie's moved from the desk, as he began to actually see the

room. There were blood stained walls, and several bullet holes. It almost

looked like a bomb had gone off. "But I thought I'd check in early. What

happened here?"

The receptionist gave him a little confused look. "Where have you been for

the last few months? You didn't hear about what happened?"

Charlie shook his head. "No, I've been under a rock for the last year." He

said in a bit of a sarcastic tone. "Seriously, I haven't heard much news. I

just arrived."

"Well, a few months ago, there was a large explosion that destroy a lot of

the city. I can't go into a lot of the details, I've only lived here for

three weeks myself." The woman said. "Now, what would you like?"

Charlie shook off the shock from his face. "Explosion?" He blinked. "Oh.

Well, I was wondering if I could see the Chief Deputy. It's really

important."

"Right. Let me just check his appointment book." She flipped through a small

black date book. "He doesn't seem to be too busy right now. You can go in

and see him if you want. I'll just cancel your other appointment." She

looked at Charlie for a second. "Is that all?"

"What? Oh no. Thanks, you've been a lot of help." Charlie nodded to her and

walked into the Chief Deputy's office. The place was a mess. It looked like

they had just gotten in here themselves only recently, as things were still

thrown around. Walking up to a desk, he noticed Deputy Sheriff Tailor almost

instantly. He was busy doing some paper work, but he looked up at him.

"Can I help you?" The black Chief Deputy as Charlie.

Charlie cleared his throat. "Charlie Hamilton. We spoke over the phone.

About me maybe joining the force?" He could see that it took Tailor a moment

to finally remember.

"Ah that's right. Charlie! I thought your appointment wasn't for another

week?" Tailor said as set the paper work down.

"I know. But something's come up. You know how I said that I couldn't get in

contact with any of my family here?" He saw Tailor nod. "Well, I went to my

mother's house and she wasn't there."

"That's not surprising. Considering what happened here." Tailor shook his

head. "All that destruction. All those deaths. Anybody with any brain at all

would leave town."

"You're probably right. But what I saw was very disturbing." Charlie paused,

trying to remain calm. "There was a dead body in the basement. But it wasn't

like anything I'd ever seen. It actually moved."

"You mean that it looked like it moved. Charlie a lot of people died."

Tailor could tell that Charlie wasn't convinced.

"It didn't just look like it moved, it DID move. It grabbed onto my ankle

and was pulling me." He saw the Chief Deputy's face change. "Something's

going on."

"Reminds me of something I heard a while ago. What I heard, although it's

probably just some rumour, zombies were loose in some mansion in the Arklay

Forest." Tailor shook his head. "It's just a rumor of course, but the

S.T.A.R.S. were reportedly sent in."

"Zombies? You have to be kidding. That's some wild rumor." Charlie shrugged.

"Still, if it's true, then it really makes a lot of sense. What else do you

know about this?"

"Not much. But don't worry, it can't be true." Tailor smiled. "Now then,

changing the subject, you said you had an interest in joining the force?" He

looked at Charlie a bit. "Actually, I think you may be better suited with

the S.T.A.R.S."

"Really? I don't know. What with all those reports of most of the team dying

and all." Charlie looked around the room. "I'll think about it."

"Great! We're trying to rebuild the Squad after what happened. We could use

you." Tailor said. "What are you going to do about your mother's house?"

"Nothing, right now. Just give me an application and I'll fill it out."

Tailor handed Charlie a few pieces of paper. "Thanks, I better get going. I

need to check in at my hotel."

"Hey, how about meeting me at the local bar later? We can discuss some

things." Tailor offered.

"I don't think so. Maybe later. Thanks for the offer." Charlie nodded and

walked out of the office. Once outside of the RPD, he couldn't help but

think about what the Deputy Sheriff had said. If there were in fact

Zombies..."What, am I crazy! This isn't a horror flick." He said to himself,

not realizing it.
